She's a Nice Girl
I had a pretty good weekend. Saturday was the day of the headache that just wouldn't go away, but it did make for a good opportunity to have Mr. Val help me assemble one of our new bookcases. It was pretty easy, but really tedious. There is one part of the assembly where it helps to have two people, but I should be able to put together the remaining shelves myself.
Saturday night I ran a bath, I thought it might help with the headache. Instead I was totally grossed out. I thought our water had been looking a little dingy lately, but when I ran the bathwater it was a rusty brown color - quite a bit worse than dingy. I took a picture, but it looks really nasty. After a bit of googling I learned that you're supposed to flush out your hot water heater on a regular basis. Hmmm. We've been living here for nearly nine years and haven't done that once. Ooops. So we'll have that project this week.
Sunday I put together a second bookcase while Mr. Val played ActRaiser. Then we started our Creedence Clearwater Revival box set. The first disc was a compilation of a good deal of their work together in the ten years before changing their name to CCR. They should have just let the material rot someplace. I think out of the entire first record only one song was even at the level of meh. Disk two contained their first couple of real records and was awesome. Hopefully we'll get to more of it tonight.
My dad called and left a message yesterday. In it he told me he had a second date with someone last night. He said:
"She's a nice girl. I just wish she spoke English a little better."
That's the story of his life.

Assembling stuff-good to have someone there
CCR -- LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!
Now if it's just hot, it sounds like you're right on the hot water heater. Will you be doing it yourself? I can give some pointers, if you want them.
Good luck!
I would LOVE pointers. Home repair is not exactly my (or Mr. Val's) forte.
I was saying the lack of English shouldn't hamper fixing him a sammich and putting out.
Yes, I have a crass sense of humor sometimes.
Good grief. You mean I am going to have to think about flushing the hot water heater?
Maybe we'll just wait til it corrodes into muck and buy a new one.
