Because I'll Be on the Road Tomorrow
March 20th will be the 9th anniversary of meeting Husband on the Internets. It was a Friday night. As usual, I had been out babysitting. The parents of the kid I was babysitting backed into my car on their way out (before drinks!), but it's cool, they paid for the damage. When I returned home, the family was sleeping (I was 17, graduated early in January, but was still living at home before I left for college in August), so I hopped online to do a bit of surfing and chatting. FutureHusband also was just surfing and chatting that night when our paths crossed in a Kate Winslet chat room (the site still exists, but there isn't much left). Laugh all you want, but it's not like we met in a drunk stupor at a bar (no offense to those of you who have - that can be fun too!).
He swept me off of my digital feet and I moved out here to Albany to live with him within a year. We were married two years later. It's been a great 9 years - I love you Husband!

awwwww, how cute! Of course I already got the gist of this story out of ya ;-)
Love the picture! Congrats on 9 years! wow!
Aw! So sweet! I don't think I could find a chat room if I tried. Okay, I've never tried so I have no idea how to find one. Maybe that's why I'm always drunk at a bar. HA!
Anyway - all the best to you both! Congratulations!
Aww, that's so sweet! Congrats and that's a really interesting story to be able to tell.
Hannahbanana, we usually only celebrate in the most obvious of ways: a seafood dinner. Oh yeah, and the great sex. :-P We're not big on gifts, cards or any of that fluff. We dig each other and that's enough. :-)
Congrats on the anniversary. You guys really look so cute together :)
My 8th year anniversary was last year; wonderful memories there.
I see no shame in meeting on the 'Net: a friend of mine has been with his sweetie longer than I've been married. I met mine at a church function, personally; but it's been said 'Net romantic correspondence is pretty similar to the love letters of the 19th century, so... no one should criticize, really.
